Principal's Message

June 2025

Dear Tenaya Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year. The first day of school for all students is Monday, August 18, 2025. We would like all 7th graders to come for orientation on Friday, August 15th.  This is not mandatory but a great way for students to feel comfortable for the first day of school. Students are being broken into two groups by alpha for orientation day. See schedule below for orientation assigned times below. Bus transportation is not available.

  • 7th Grade Last Name A-L- 8am – 10am
  • 7th Grade Last Name M-Z 10am -12pm

Packet pick-up for registration is August 4th - August 8th from 8:00AM-4:00PM in the main office. Registration packets must be completed and returned to pick up student’s class schedule. Below is packet return and schedule pick up dates.   

  • 8th Grade Last Name A-L Schedule Pick-up- Monday, August 11, 3:30pm-5:00pm
  • 8th Grade Last Name M-Z Schedule Pick-up - Monday, August 11, 5:00pm-6:30pm
  • 7th Grade Last Name A-L Schedule Pick-up – Tuesday, August 12, 3:30pm-5:00pm
  • 7th Grade Last Name M-Z Schedule Pick-up - Tuesday, August 12, 5:00pm-6:30pm

Please mark Thursday, August 28, 2025, for Tenaya Back to School Night from 5:30–7:00 pm where you will meet our staff and receive important information about the coming school year. Our Open House will be on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 5:30-7PM.

The Tenaya office will extend their hours on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, for registration.  The office will be open through 7:00 PM.

Please note that there is a possibility that your child may receive a new schedule during the first week of school as counselors are balancing class sizes for all teachers.

The staff at Tenaya Middle School looks forward to working with you and your child. Our Tenaya staff strongly believes that the education of children is a partnership between the home and the school, and that parent involvement is crucial to the success of our students.

This year all Fresno Unified Schools will have an early release day on every Tuesday of 5-day school weeks. If there is a holiday or day off during the week Tuesday is a regular schedule.

Tenaya Daily Schedule: 8:15am – 2:45pm

Early Release Schedule: 8:15am – 1:45pm (Every Tuesday of 5-day school weeks)

Breakfast Daily Schedule: 7:45am-8:10am

After School Program Schedule: 2:45pm-4:30pm
